Does it hurt?
A topical numbing cream is applied to keep you comfortable during our procedure. The injections feel like a light pinch or warm sensation and you should only feel some minor discomfort.
How long does it last?
Results of PRP treatment courses may last up to three years or longer in some women. However, on average, women choose to repeat the procedure every 18 months to maintain their results. In your Doctor Consultation we will tailor a treatment plan specifically to your personal circumstances.
How many treatments do I need?
Commonly, only one PRP treatment is needed. Your consulting Doctor may recommend 2-3 treatments over the first 3 months, depending on your personal circumstances. Some patients may choose to have additional treatment which will build on the existing results.
Will the O-Shot help with vaginal laxity?
For more advanced vaginal atrophy, urinary incontinence or laxity symptoms, MonaLisa Touch laser vaginal rejuvenation may be a more suitable option. This combination can be effective at resolving serious intimate concerns including excessive dryness, inflammation, dyspareunia (pain during intercourse), stress and urge urinary incontinence, lichen sclerosus and laxity or looseness of the vaginal canal.
Is it safe?
When performed by an appropriately trained practitioner, Vaginal PRP has an excellent safety and efficacy profile. As it uses your own platelet rich plasma, there is no risk of allergic reaction. However, like any injectable procedure, there is small risk of bleeding, infection and nerve damage.
Is there any downtime?
There is typically no downtime following Vaginal PRP treatment and our patients resume their daily activities straight away. Due to increased sensitivity for the first 24 hours, we advise to refrain from sexual activity for 2-3 days.
How much does the Vaginal PRP treatment cost?
The cost of a single Vaginal PRP treatment session is $1,800.
