Laser treatments at Contour Clinics deliver unmatched results for a number of issues including:

  • Pigmentation, sun-damaged or wrinkled skin
  • Rosacea, facial flushing and redness of the skin
  • Broken capillaries and prominent veins
  • Cherry angiomas, Campbell de Morgan spots and red skin moles
  • All types of scar treatment
  • Laser hair removal
  • Skin resurfacing
  • Laser facial rejuvenation

Our range of laser technologies available makes Contour Clinics the best go-to clinic for laser skin treatments:

Fraxel Laser – This is one of our favourite lasers for acne scarring, skin resurfacing, fine lines and wrinkles and general antiageing providing excellent results that are suitable for most skin types.

Icon Max G Intense Pulsed Light – This is perfect for lighter skin types who are experiencing pigmentation, freckles, rosacea, or redness from post-inflammatory erythema (PIE).

1064 Nd: YAG Laser – Great for darker skin types. This laser treats pigmentation, redness, capillaries and can perform hair removal in darker skin types. This also stimulates collagen giving your skin a healthy glow.

Revlite Q-Switch Laser – This is perfect for collagen stimulation as well as post-inflammatory pigmentation and melasma common in darker skin types.

Morpheus Radio-Frequency Skin Needling – Think of this like skin needling on steroids. Microneedles cause a controlled microtrauma, while radiofrequency energy is delivered deep into the dermis to tighten and cause an intense collagen stimulation. It’s insulated tips mean its energy is concentrated to the deeper layers of the dermis where it is needed.

Icon 1540 Fractional Non-Ablative Laser – This works in a similar way to Fraxel, resurfacing the skin to take your skin back 10 years, but is slightly less aggressive for those who don’t have the same downtime available. It is safe in all skin types.

How Does Laser Treatment Work?

Laser treatments use focused laser light energy to treat skin conditions such as pigmentation, redness, skin resurfacing/rejuvenation, fine lines and wrinkles or scar removal. Laser stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Most basic lasers consist of a sealed tube containing paired mirrors and a laser medium (e.g. argon, certain dyes, helium, neon, or solid crystals). When energy is applied to the laser medium, release of particles of light (photons) are stimulated. These photons are focused into concentrated beams which are then applied to the skin (usually in measured pulses) to treat all types of skin complaints. Energy levels, method of delivery, spot sizes and wavelength frequencies can all be manipulated depending on the skin complaint to be treated. This allows selective targeting of skin complaints without damaging your surrounding skin.

For example, pigmentation or redness treatments use laser energy at a wavelength that is selectively absorbed by pigment and/or in your skin. This causes a controlled destruction of pigment/redness, without harming the surrounding skin. In contrast, Laser skin resurfacing causes a controlled micro-damage of tissues in the deeper dermis, without harming the skins upper layers. This causes an intensive collagen stimulation, and replacement of old for newer, healthier appearing skin.

Laser skin treatments can be ablative, semi-ablative or non-ablative. At Contour Clinics we prefer safer, less downtime, similarly effective non-ablative laser treatments. Advances in laser technology mean similarly spectacular skin improvements are now possible completely non-ablatively, meaning less pain, far greater safety, less downtime and a fraction of the expense of older, ancient methods of skin resurfacing.

At Contour Clinics, we use gold standard TGA approved laser therapies, operated at settings which are dermatologist designed and approved. These treatments are backed by thousands of studies supporting the safety and efficacy of every Contour Clinics laser treatment.

H3: What are the Benefits of Laser Treatment for Skin?

Laser Facials and Laser Skin Therapies are the preferred method for skin rejuvenation and correction of common skin complaints over other methods of skin treatment due to their non-invasive nature with the added benefit of minimal pain and downtime. Laser technologies selectively target skin complaints, leaving surrounding skin unharmed, while also promoting collagen production within the skin and new, healthier skin growth. Laser skin treatments can safely and effectively treat a variety of complaints including:

  • Reduce your fine lines and wrinkles
  • Treats pigmentation, brown spots, redness, or discolouration
  • Tightens skin and encourages collagen production
  • Improves acne scars, traumatic scars, and surgical scars
  • Reduces the appearance of prominent blood vessels and veins
  • Reduces the size of enlarged pores
  • Quick treatments with minimal pain and downtime

Which Laser Treatment Is Best for Me?

Contour Clinics are at the cutting edge of the latest laser technologies to reach Australia. A consultation with one of our expert clinicians will allow you to discuss your skin concerns and/or conditions in confidence. At your complimentary comprehensive consultation, you will be provided with an individualised laser treatment plan that specifically targets your unique skin circumstances.

Our innovative Revlite Q-Switch Skin Laser Treatment stimulates collagen production, improves pores and acne scarring, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, reduces redness, evens out skin tone, and firms skin. This treatment is non-invasive, with minimal to no downtime or side effects. It is a fantastic option for all types of pigmentation in all skin types.

Fraxel laser is a skin resurfacing treatment that creates a controlled micro-injury to the surface of the skin. It is used to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, scarring and sun damage. It is a great option for non-melasma pigmentation in all skin types with the added benefit of skin tightening and skin resurfacing.

Intense Pulsed light (IPL) is the MOST effective pigmentation and redness remover for those with lighter skin types. It however should not be used in patients with hormonal melasma or those with darker skin types.

Our medical professionals at Contour Clinics use the gold standard in laser hair removal, the Cynosure Icon platform. This is one of the most efficient and safe machines on the market. This technology allows us to safely treat all skin types, to keep you smooth all year round.

What I Can Expect After Laser Treatment for Skin?

Most Laser Treatment procedures are downtime-free. However, some laser treatments may require minimal recovery time depending on the type of laser and laser settings used. Some laser treatments may induce minor swelling and bruising to the skin which generally settles in 2-3 days following treatment. All of our laser skin treatments will require avoidance of sun exposure for the first 24 to 48 hours before and after treatment.

An in-depth consultation with one of our expert clinicians will be able to provide you with the best medical recommendations for your skin type and goals before proceeding with any laser treatment.

Our range of laser treatments carries many benefits for all patients ranging from:

  • Skin resurfacing
  • Rejuvenating glow to the skin
  • Increased collagen production
  • Removal of benign moles, skin tags and cherry angiomas
  • Facial complexion and pigmentation correction
  • Remove acne scars and other deep pitted scars in the skin
  • Skin hydration

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Laser Treatment is the Least Painful?

The least painful treatment we offer is LED Light Therapy, also known as low level laser light therapy.

LED phototherapy is the perfect non-invasive and non-ablative treatment for skin rejuvenation. Pleasant warming lights of varying wavelengths stimulate skin cell renewal, rejuvenate tired skin, improve skin tone and eliminate acne-causing bacteria.

There is no pain associated with this treatment. Patients describe a pleasant, warm feeling.

Which Laser Treatment Requires the Least Downtime?

Non-ablative laser treatments such as q-switch laser facials minimal, to no downtime. Most of our laser treatments at Contour Clinics leave a mild redness lasting anywhere from hours, to 2-3 days at a maximum.

This is unlike older Ablative laser technologies not performed at Contour Clinics, which can require 2 to 3 weeks of recovery time, depending on the depth of the skin it has targeted.
