Who is suitable for this treatment?
Rejuran treatments are suitable for a wide range of people – anyone who is seeking skin rejuvenation or restoration. The most ideal candidates are looking to address ageing skin concerns like fine lines, dullness, elasticity loss and dryness. Younger people can also benefit from Rejuran as a preventative treatment.
Those wishing to repair their skin from sun damage, acne scarring, ageing or post-procedure effects can benefit from Rejuran’s tissue regenerative effects.
It’s also important to have realistic expectations; successful results come for those who understand that Rejuran promotes gradual, natural looking improvement, not dramatic changes overnight.
Is it safe to have salmon DNA injected?
Salmon DNA is a new, safe and proven treatment type consisting of amino acid polynucleotides which are the building blocks of DNA obtained from salmon.
These polynucleotides are completely natural and form the content of our human DNA, which is the key to vitality and renewal at the cellular level.
How long do the results last?
Results of any biostimulation treatment don’t go away on their own – it’s just the natural ageing process that requires repeat treatments for results to be maintained.
If you want to maintain these results and keep delaying the signs of ageing, we recommend having a course of treatments each year.
There’s no reason why you must keep getting Rejuran; you’re not going to have adverse effects by stopping. You’ll just be allowing the ageing process to continue without intervention.
How many Rejuran skin injections will I need?
We do multiple injections during one treatment, and we’ll spread these out over the treatment area. These are very tiny injections, though. As a guide – for treating skin around the eyes, we’ll use 1ml per eye, per treatment.
With any treatment involving biostimulation, it’s not going to be overnight results – your skin needs some time to do its thing. We’re causing stimulation to the body’s natural healing process – that’s what spurs your collagen-making skin cells into action – and this usually takes around 4 weeks to produce visible results.
Once this process begins, it can continue to improve further, so there are longer-term benefits with biostimulators.
Is there downtime after the treatment?
No, there is no downtime associated with this treatment – you can resume your usual daily activities without interruption.
You’ll also be fine to have other injectables – anti-wrinkle, dermal fillers – alongside this treatment.
The only thing you should keep separate is lasers – allow two weeks before your laser appointment if you’re having Rejuran.
However, you can have laser immediately after Rejuran and nothing will be compromised. In fact, it’s beneficial to have this treatment right after having laser, due to it speeding up any post-laser healing.
Is it painful to have Rejuran?
Discomfort is very minimal with Rejuran – these injections are close to the skin, with a tiny-gauge needle, about as small as what we use for anti-wrinkle. But it’s even less painful than anti-wrinkle, as we’re only injecting into soft tissue, not muscle.
How long does it take?
Performing the procedure doesn’t take long. It depends on the area being treated but generally it’s 5–10 minutes. Factoring in consultation, plus application and activation of numbing cream, it’s about a 30-minute appointment overall.
