A dermal therapist treats a patient's face with Potenza RF microneedling and explains what is Potenza RF Microneedling - with cosmetic practitioners at Contour Clinics Sydney and Brisbane

What Is Potenza RF Microneedling?

Potenza is a radiofrequency (RF) microneedling device for skin needling. It combines fine-needle skin penetration with controlled radiofrequency energy delivered to targeted depths within the dermis.

Microneedling creates micro-channels in the skin, which the body responds to by initiating a healing process – including collagen and elastin production. Adding radiofrequency energy allows heat to be delivered to specific depths within the dermis, with the aim of intensifying the skin’s remodelling response. Potenza creates a controlled response that stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin over time.

At Contour Clinics, we use Potenza because it has a versatile range of modes that enable us to customise treatment to your skin goals.

If you want to understand standard microneedling without the RF component, our skin needling page covers that option. For patients with body skin concerns – laxity on the stomach, arms or above the knees – Morpheus8 has dedicated body handpieces that Potenza does not. For face and neck concerns, both produce comparable clinical results.

Potenza RF microneedling can treat skin texture, lines, laxity, acne scars and more

What Can Potenza Do For Your Skin?

Potenza RF microneedling is typically discussed to treat:

  • Skin texture irregularities, including enlarged pores and uneven surface
  • Fine lines and early wrinkling
  • Mild to moderate skin laxity, particularly around the face and neck
  • Acne scarring
  • Stretch marks
  • Post-surgical scarring

Whether Potenza is an appropriate option for your specific concerns is something a practitioner will assess at consultation. Suitability depends on skin type, the nature of the concern, your medical history, and what you are hoping to achieve. Results vary between individuals.

What to Expect at Your Potenza Consultation and Treatment

Before any treatment is recommended, you will have a consultation with one of our practitioners. This is a complimentary, confidential appointment and there is no obligation to proceed.

Your practitioner will:

  • Discuss what you have been noticing, your goals, and what you would like to change (and keep)
  • Review your medical history and relevant medications, and assess your suitability for RF microneedling
  • Carry out an anatomy-led skin assessment, including standardised clinical photography
  • Talk you through the options that may be suitable for your concerns, including trade-offs, limitations and what realistic expectations look like for your skin
  • Explain risks, aftercare and recovery considerations specific to your circumstances
  • Provide a written treatment plan you can take away, review, and ask further questions about before deciding

Your consultation is complimentary. A $75 deposit secures your booking and is credited to your treatment if you proceed, or refunded in full if you decide not to.

Potenza Treatment

Sessions typically take under an hour depending on the area or areas being treated. A topical anaesthetic is applied before treatment to reduce discomfort. Your practitioner adjusts the device settings – needle depth, RF mode, tip type and energy level – according to your treatment plan and the area being addressed.

What does Potenza Microneedling feel like? Some patients experience mild redness, minor swelling, or brief sensitivity in the hours following treatment. This usually resolves within two to three days. Your practitioner will give you specific aftercare guidance, including sun protection requirements for the period after treatment.

How Many Potenza Sessions Do You Need

How Many Potenza Sessions Do You Need?

This depends on the concern being addressed, its severity and your goals. A common starting recommendation is a series of three Potenza sessions spaced approximately six weeks apart. Your practitioner will advise ideal timing during your consultation.

Collagen remodelling is a gradual process. Initial changes may be noticeable within a few weeks of your first session, with more significant improvement typically seen in the weeks following the completion of a treatment series. Individual responses vary.

What does Potenza RF Microneedling Cost in Sydney and Brisbane?

Potenza RF microneedling costs start from $450. Pricing depends on the area being addressed.

At Contour Clinics, every patient receives a tailored plan, and costs are explained clearly during consultation so you know exactly what to expect before proceeding.
