What is the Fox Eye Thread-lift?
A Fox Eye Thread Lift is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure designed to lift and subtly reposition the outer corners of the eyes and brows. The goal is to create a more elongated, lifted appearance to the upper face, sometimes referred to as a “cat-eye” or “fox-eye” look.
This treatment uses dissolvable threads placed just beneath the skin to gently elevate the skin and underlying tissue. It is commonly requested by patients seeking a refreshed or more contoured eye shape without the need for surgery.
At Contour Clinics, our medical team in Sydney performs this procedure with a focus on natural-looking results that align with each patient’s unique anatomy and aesthetic goals. Treatment suitability is assessed during a detailed consultation, and individual results may vary.
How does the fox eye thread-lift work?
A Fox Eye Thread Lift works by using dissolvable threads (either PDO, PCL, or PLLA) placed beneath the skin to gently lift and support the outer brow and upper eyelid area. These threads are carefully inserted using a fine cannula and are positioned to create a subtle upward tension, resulting in a lifted, elongated appearance of the eyes.
The threads used in this procedure are made from materials that gradually dissolve over time. We no longer use permanent threads owing to the risks associated with these sutures. As the dissolvable threads break down, they stimulate collagen production in the surrounding tissue, which may help support longer-term skin tightening and improved skin texture. Threads can be barbed, conned or straight. The choice of thread will be decided upon at your complimentary consultation.
This procedure is typically performed under local anaesthetic, with minimal downtime compared to surgical alternatives. Results may be seen immediately, with potential continued improvements over the following weeks as collagen synthesis occurs.
Each treatment is tailored to the individual, and outcomes vary based on factors such as skin type, facial structure, and personal goals. Results are not guaranteed and you should understand the likely outcomes as they relate to your unique circumstances during your consultation.
How is the Fox Eye Thread-lift performed?
The Fox Eye Thread-lift is performed in clinic after a thorough complimentary consultation.
Your doctor will first mark you out to ensure symmetry of result. Cleansing then occurs, followed by local anaesthetic to improve the comfort of the procedure.
Using a fine cannula, dissolvable threads are carefully inserted beneath the skin, following the natural contour of the upper face. These threads are strategically placed to lift the outer brow and upper eyelid area, creating a more elongated and lifted eye shape. Once positioned, the threads are gently tightened to achieve the desired lift, and any excess is trimmed.
The procedure usually takes around 30 to 45 minutes. Most patients experience minimal downtime, though mild swelling or bruising may occur temporarily.
Can the Fox Eye Lift be done with muscle relaxants?
No. The lift provided by relaxing muscles responsible for wrinkles and pulling down the brow cannot reliably ever produce the same results as a fox eye thread lift.
Can the Fox Eye lift be done by placing volume under the brow?
No. Alone, placing volume underneath the outer corner of the brow, or volumising the temple hollow can produce a very mild lift, but nothing compared to a fox eye thread-lift.
