There are plenty of reasons behind wanting to change the way your jawline looks. 

For many, it’s wanting to create definition and sharpness for their face shape, eradicating that ‘soft’ side profile where the jawline tends to blend into the neck. 

Jawline filler is a hugely popular treatment for men and women, with more people becoming aware of their appearance from multiple angles, and learning that they can do something to improve it. 

For jawline filler treatments, a thicker, firmer type of dermal filler is placed in the jawline and jaw angle to mimic bone, creating definition and structure, and subtly tightening the skin as a result. 

Other concerns of the jawline include asymmetry, where one side appears larger or more prominent than the other; and jowls, where ageing or sagging skin causes lower-face heaviness. Jaw filler can correct both of these issues. 

For men, the top reason for having jaw filler is for masculinisation. This is one of our most in-demand treatments here at Contour Clinics, with male patients wanting that chiselled, strong jawline for their side profile, and a wider, more masculine jaw when seen front-on. 

Women are also requesting jawline filler, most commonly for sculpting their jawline angle and sharpening their side profile for a sleeker look. 

For our female patients, we take special care not to take away femininity from the jawline, so it’s a priority that we do not widen the jaw, as this is often associated with a masculine look. 

Instead, a smaller quantity of filler (than in men) is expertly placed at the back of the jawline, where it creates differentiation between the jaw and the neck, resulting in a crisp look for the female side profile.
