Natural-looking, long lasting results

Here’s a guide to getting great results from your treatment for lines and wrinkles:

  1. Use a licensed clinic with a proven track record
We are regulated by the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration), and our procedures are performed by fully qualified and highly experienced medical practitioners. Any clinic you use should have these markers of excellence; always ask for credentials and evidence of great practice.
  2. Consult with your clinic about how to achieve the best results for you
We pride ourselves on offering a premium consultation for all patients, which encompasses a thorough and expert facial analysis using Vectra 3D technology. During this initial consultation, we will discuss your concerns, goals, and how we can best achieve your desired outcome according to your unique characteristics and suitability.
  3. Listen to the aftercare advice
Following prescriptive aesthetic treatments, you can typically resume your usual activities straight after your appointment. However, there are some dos and don’ts to listen to. It’s important that you take your doctor or nurse’s advice and follow proper aftercare instructions.

Treatment Areas

Forehead Lines

Forehead lines, often caused by the overactivity of the frontalis muscle, can give the appearance of ageing and fatigue. With repeated movements over time, these lines can deepen and become visible even when the face is at rest.

Since the forehead covers a significant portion of the face, smoothing these lines and wrinkles can have a noticeable impact on your overall facial appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the treatments hurt?

Topical anaesthetic is applied to the treatment area to numb the skin, and we provide the option of ‘happy gas’ to make your procedure as comfortable as possible.

When will I see results?

Depending on the treatment, it can take 2-5 days to see results from your procedure. Full results are noticeable in 2 weeks.

How long do results last?

The results last between 3 and 4 months. Those who have treatments regularly may find they can go longer durations between treatments, often out to 6-12 months.

If you decide treatment no longer suits you, you can rest assured that the treated area will gradually return to its pre-treatment appearance.

Can you get multiple treatments on the same day?

The short answer is yes. Although, there are certain areas of the face where caution needs to be exercised.

Treatments for facial volume can cause initial swelling in the treated area. Swelling can increase the risk of complications for your lines and wrinkles treatment.

Provided the same area has not been targeted by both treatment methods, there should be no issue having them done on the same day.

There may be occasions when your practitioner recommends waiting 2 weeks between the two different treatments. This will be discussed with you in your initial consultation.

What is the downtime associated with treatment for lines and wrinkles?

This treatment requires no downtime, often referred to as a ‘lunchtime procedure’. It is performed in-clinic, taking only minutes. You can return to your daily routine immediately after treatments without anyone knowing you have had anything done.

Will anyone know I've had treatment?

At Contour Clinics, we specialise in a natural-looking result. Results and any changes will occur slowly and subtly. People may note you look more refreshed or less tired without knowing why.

Will I still be able to make facial expressions?

One of the worries many patients express is that muscle-inhibiting treatment will make it impossible for them to move their faces.

While muscle relaxants do reduce the muscle activity causing wrinkles and expression lines, when used correctly they should not affect your ability to show concern, look surprised, or other facial expression movements.

If overdone, muscle relaxants can cause a frozen appearance. At Contour Clinics, our expert and experienced practitioners are skilled in administering procedures with precision for natural-looking and undetectable results.

Do treatments for eye wrinkles make your eyes smaller?

No. If anything, relaxing the Orbicularis oculi muscle surrounding the eye will relax eye muscles, causing a widening of the eyes. This can lead to a more alert, awake appearance.

What happens as the result begins to wear off?

Results generally lasts 3-4 months. As the effects wear off, the skin will return to its natural, pre-treatment state.

If you decide against further treatments, your skin will return to the same condition it was before treatment.

Is there anything I should avoid after my treatment?

  • Rubbing or massaging treated areas for 5 days. Gentle cleansing is fine.
  • Alcohol consumption on the day of treatment.
  • Strenuous physical activity for 24 hours.
  • Lying flat for 4 hours post treatment.
  • Facial treatments including lasers, peels, needling and waxing, for 1 week post treatment.

How long after treatment can I wash my face?

You can gently wash your face immediately after treatment.

The key here is to be gentle and to avoid facial massage or pressure.

How soon after treatment can I wear makeup?

You may apply makeup 24 hours after your treatment. This is to allow sufficient time for skin healing.

Applying makeup sooner than this can increase your risk of infection post treatment.

What are the potential side effects?

Side effects are rare with this type of treatment. Immediately afterwards, minor side effects such as redness, swelling, and itching is common. These rarely last more than a few hours. These effects do not prevent patients from returning to work and other normal activities immediately after treatment.

Uncommonly, patients may experience short-lived bruising. It is usually minimal and lasts anywhere from 1-4 days. We offer post-procedural LED light therapy to decrease the risk of bruising.
