How Many 1540 Fractional Non-Ablative Treatments Will I Need?
The number of treatments required varies from patient to patient, and depending on the skin complaint. We generally suggest 3 to 5 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart for the majority of our patients.
What Conditions Benefit from 1540 Laser?
1540 laser may be suitable for the following skin concerns:
- Pigmentation
- General skin discolouration
- Freckles
- Sun spots/age spots
- Acne scarring
- Erasing fine lines and wrinkles
- General skin resurfacing
- Resurfacing scarring including surgical and traumatic scars
When will I see results from my 1540 Laser?
Results are dependent on your skin’s ability to heal and produce collagen. This can be a slow progress with initial results being seen 1 month post treatment. Full results are usually seen in 2-3 months post-treatment, but the skin can continue to improve for up to a year.
Results vary from person to person.
What Precautions Should I Take Before 1540 Laser Treatment?
Patients are advised to stop using any retinoids, peels, acids, or products that can cause skin sensitivity for a full week before the treatment. Patients should also avoid sun exposure in the 2 weeks preceding treatment. We recommend the use of a pigment inhibitor creme to be used twice per day in the 2 weeks leading up until treatment.
Is 1540 Laser Painful?
Depending on the setting used, you may experience some slight discomfort during your 1540 laser treatment. To reduce any discomfort, we recommend the application of numbing cream prior to your treatment. We also offer Nitrous (happy) gas for any of our laser treatments if required and clinically indicated.
What Can I Expect After My 1540 Laser Treatment?
After this treatment, your skin may feel mildly sunburned which may last 1-2 hours. You may experience some mild swelling and transient bruising but this usually subsides in around 2 to 7 days.
