Skin & Laser Therapist
Laura Gibson spent eight years working across some of Victoria’s leading clinics before joining Contour Clinics in Sydney. Her path started in beauty therapy, moved through a university degree in dermal science and landed in cosmetic medicine with a focus on laser therapy.
Laser resurfacing has been a particular interest throughout her career and she follows developments in laser technology closely. Laura values laser therapy for the way it may be applied across different skin concerns and skin types.
Laura’s own experience with acne has shaped how she approaches patient care. She understands firsthand how a skin concern can affect daily life which gives her a genuine empathy for what many patients bring to a consultation. She’s particularly interested in supporting patients who are navigating active acne, acne scarring, rosacea and pigmentation. Laura also loves supporting brides in the lead-up to their special day, helping them understand their skin and plan a timeline that works for them.
In consultation, Laura begins with a thorough assessment covering concerns, previous treatments, current skincare, lifestyle and what a patient is hoping to achieve. She is clear about options, realistic expectations, downtime and what each treatment involves.
Where appropriate, she will recommend prioritising skin health and a strong home-care routine before introducing in-clinic treatments. What happens between appointments matters as much as what happens in the clinic.
Laura sees cosmetic medicine as much more than treating a skin concern. It’s about listening, educating and building a personalised treatment plan for each individual. She values a long-term skin approach rather than chasing quick fixes.
Laura reads medical journals regularly and stays across new research and developments. It’s a habit she sees as a powerful part of her practice that strengthens all she does in the treatment room.
Outside the clinic, the beach is Laura’s preferred reset. She also does Pilates, yoga and the occasional weekend hike.
