Our Head Skin and Laser Therapist, Evelyn Yin leads our dermal team across training, protocols and patient relationships. As well as treating her own patients, she is responsible for identifying emerging techniques and driving ongoing education across her team. Evelyn has over a decade of dermal and aesthetics experience, including working for two of Sydney’s largest dermatology clinics.
She has always worked alongside dermatologists, cosmetic physicians, registered nurses and dermal therapists – so Evelyn’s approach to planning and performing treatments is based on a multidisciplinary perspective. In clinic, this means patients are cared for within the context of the wider Contour team – with a natural pathway to the right practitioner for the right concern.
After working in both the medical and cosmetic sides of skin care, Evelyn found her niche in cosmetic care. She loves the blend of precision, science, craft and her ongoing relationships with patients.
Laser treatments and acne scarring are Evelyn’s particular interests. She has experienced acne herself and understands that no two patients arrive with the same scarring, same history or expectations – and that the approach has to follow. Acne scarring is, in her view, one of the most technically demanding concerns to treat well, which is exactly what makes it engaging.
Evelyn’s approach to consultation is straightforward: she listens, sets realistic expectations and gives honest recommendations. There is no hard sell. She takes time to understand each patient’s lifestyle, budget and tolerance for downtime, with a treatment plan that accounts for what matters to each person. Patients who are nervous are given time, options and – where it helps – a test patch before committing to anything.
Outside the clinic, Evelyn’s time belongs to family and friends. You can usually catch her at a matcha cafe or exploring new restaurants.
