What can I expect during a facial treatment?
Your treating Skin & Laser Therapist will follow a series of steps, beginning with cleansing to prepare your skin, then progressing through the stages appropriate to your selected facial.
These steps may include exfoliation, extraction, lymphatic drainage, application of eye and face masks, facial and/or décolleté massage, and application of skincare suited to your needs.
During the treatment, you’ll be invited to recline on a dermal therapy bed. If you have long hair, a headband may be provided to keep your face clear. Depending on your facial type, you might need to remove your top to avoid contact with skincare products and allow for face, neck, and décolleté treatment. Towels are provided for comfort and modesty.
Some stages, such as extraction, may cause temporary, mild discomfort, which usually resolves quickly.
How often should I get a facial treatment?
There’s no set frequency for facials – they can be enjoyed as part of a regular self-care routine.
If you have particular skin concerns or goals, your Skin & Laser Therapist can recommend a treatment plan that may include intervals between sessions to allow for normal skin processes, or regular treatments to maintain results.
Are there any side effects of facial treatments?
Side effects vary depending on the facial and the individual. Your Skin & Laser Therapist will discuss possible temporary effects during your consultation.
Some people may notice temporary redness following extraction, which typically resolves within hours. Occasionally, a breakout may occur after a deep-cleansing facial – this can be part of the skin’s natural response to the treatment.
Can facial treatments be combined with other skincare services?
In some cases, facials can complement other treatments. Your Skin & Laser Therapist will advise on suitable combinations and explain any precautions based on your skin assessment.
How do I maintain my skin post-treatment?
Aftercare will depend on the facial type and your skin’s condition. Using appropriate skincare products at home can help maintain your skin between treatments.
Following more intensive facials, your skin may be more sensitive for about 7–10 days. Avoiding direct sun exposure during this period is recommended, and sunscreen use is encouraged when outdoors.
Your Skin & Laser Therapist can suggest a home care routine suited to your skin type and treatment history.
