Does cheek augmentation hurt?
Cheek augmentation at Contour Clinics is performed by qualified and experienced practitioners, prioritising your comfort, safety and hygienic practices throughout the procedure. Topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area prior to your procedure. Additionally, nitrous oxide gas is available if clinically indicated as an optional comfort measure.
Are cheek augmentation treatments safe?
Cheek augmentation treatments at Contour Clinics are performed by qualified and experienced practitioners who prioritise safety, professional standards, and personalised patient care. Our cosmetic doctors thoroughly assess your facial anatomy, aesthetic goals, and medical history during a comprehensive consultation, ensuring optimal outcomes tailored specifically to your needs.
As with all cosmetic medical procedures, cheek treatments carry associated risks. Potential side effects, though uncommon, may include:
- Temporary swelling
- Bruising, redness or tenderness
- Infection at the treatment site (rare)
Our clinicians utilise industry standard techniques, including sterile procedures and gentle cannula methods, in an aim to reduce the likelihood of these side effects.
Our team is committed to providing detailed aftercare instructions and responsive post-treatment support, helping you manage any discomfort, minimise downtime, and ensure a smooth recovery period.
What precautions should I take before my cheek augmentation treatment?
Prior to your appointment you should refrain from drinking excessive amounts of alcohol for 24 hours. You should arrive with a face free of make-up and skin care products. You should avoid aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications for 5 days prior to your treatment unless you have been directed otherwise by your GP. Do not stop any prescribed medication.
